Eye Surgeons of Indiana adds a new Retinal Specialist!

Eye Surgeons of Indiana is pleased to announce the addition of Chirag Patel, M.D. to our group. Dr. Patel specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, retinal tears and detachments, diabetic retinopathy and other diseases of the retina. He will begin seeing patients on October 1st.
Dr. Patel received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School in North Chicago, Illinois, and continued with an internship at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Evanston, Illinois.
Dr. Patel completed his residency in Ophthalmology at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He then did two years of fellowship training in vitreo-retinal surgery at University of Colorado School of Medicine in Aurora, Colorado.
Dr. Patel’s research work has been published in several leading peer-reviewed journals and he has lectured extensively on the management of retinal diseases. Dr. Patel has special interests in diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration and other macular pathalogy, and retinal detachment surgery. He is on the Medical Staff of Hancock Regional Hospital and Community Hospitals.
