Dr. Stewart received his Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University in 1985 and went on to a post graduate residency in ocular disease with Omni Eye Services of Chattanooga where he then served as a staff optometrist. He moved back to Indiana in 1994 where he practiced consultative optometry in ocular disease management. He has dedicated his career to specialty practice in the treatment and management of ocular disease and has grown an extensive practice in glaucoma management.
He received his fellowship with the American Academy of Optometry in 1988 and has since served many roles within the profession of Optometry. He is an adjunct faculty member of the Indiana University School of Optometry and has been working with fourth year optometric students since the completion of his residency in 1986. Dr Stewart was honored to be the president of the Indiana Optometric Association in 2013. He later received the IOA’s highest award, the Optometrist of the year in 2018.
Dr. Stewart is married to his wife, Gail Stewart, who is also an optometrist. They have two children, daughter Katherine who is a computer consultant and son Michael who is studying to be an optometrist. Outside of work, Dr. Stewart enjoys photography, woodworking, and playing golf.
